In early 2022, I was asked to create a wedding dress for a dear friend. After a series of in-depth conversations, several moodboard mock-ups, and fittings at our KUZYK atelier, we created a dress inspired by vintage silhouettes. Made from leftover embroidered floral lace, the gown features a delicate pearl trim at the hem and beaded pearl detailing at the straps and chest – it’s the ‘70s cool girl alternative to a traditional wedding dress.
I am excited to announce that I am opening this custom service up to everyone. Here is how it works:
1. Initial meeting (online or in-person)
a. We get to know each other – we’ll discuss how you want to feel in the piece, your inspiration, style, and anything you like or dislike
2. Moodboard mock-up
a. I get back to you with a board of references, preliminary sketches and fabric swatches
b. You provide feedback
3. Prototype
a. We have an in-person fitting where you’ll try on the initial muslin prototype
4. Edits
a. I make final alterations to the piece and create it in the chosen fabric
5. Final product
a. You receive the final version of the piece
Remember: it’s up to you how involved in the design you want to be. The entire process takes 2-4 months.
